If you're feeling stressed and anxious, you're not alone. This is a friendly reminder to put your mental health first and to also check in on close ones this week. Unplug, relax and practise some self-care today, you deserve it.
Power Down For Your Mind
Today is World Mental Health Day, which gives us the chance to talk about mental health in general, how we need to look after it, and how important it is to talk about things and get help if you are struggling.
We often put our mental health needs aside, where a good night’s rest is often pushed down the list of priorities. Sleep and Mental Health go hand in hand.
There's never been a more important time to find calm in the chaos of our lives. Here are 4 ways we encourage you to Power Down For Your Mind:
1. Switch Off From Technology
A great alternative to aimless scrolling is to journal. Make a to-do list for the day ahead or commence the day with a gratitude list.
2. Read a Book
If you're not an avid book reader this can be a challenge. Reading books can be a relaxing pastime, start small and aim to read 10 pages. No doubt you will get into a rhythm and end up reading more pages than you think and have a relaxed demeanour afterward.
3. Cook a Healthy Meal
Then share the meal, this is a great way to catch up with a special someone or practise some self care by making a nutritious meal to enjoy solo.
4. Go For a Walk
Light exercise in the sunshine is the perfect way to start or end the day. Be present in the moment and try being active without music or headphones. Notice your surroundings.
